This tour lets you see Christchurch from three unique perspectives: by vintage tram, punt boat, and gondola cable car (note: transport to the gondola is additional).
Begin with a 30-minute punt ride on the Avon River. A boatman in Edwardian attire will guide you along the city center’s waterways. To secure your preferred time, book your punt slot before arrival, as rides are shared unless private options are arranged in advance.
The Christchurch Gondola cable car transports you to the summit of Port Hills, offering panoramic views including the Southern Alps and Kaikoura Mountains. The experience includes access to the Discovery Ride museum, the Red Rock Café, and a gift shop. Once at the top, you can hike on several trails, including the volcanic-formed Crater Rim. Note that the gondola is a 15-minute drive from the city center and a 10-minute drive from Lyttelton Port; transport is not included.
The vintage tram provides a full-day hop-on/hop-off experience around the city with live commentary onboard. The full circuit takes around 50 minutes, with stops at locations like Hagley Park and New Regent Street. Trams run every 15 minutes during summer (9 AM–6 PM) and less frequently in winter (10 AM–4 PM).
Attractions can be visited over multiple days if preferred. Expect busier conditions during the summer and cruise ship season, with possible wait times at tram and gondola entrances.

- The gondola is 15 minutes from Christchurch city center and 10 minutes from Port Lyttelton. Public bus #8 runs between the central city bus interchange and the gondola.
- Trams run every 15 minutes from 9 AM to 6 PM in summer, and 10 AM to 4 PM in winter.
- You may board the tram at any of the 18 stops using your booking reference number.
- Attractions do not need to be used all on the same day.
- Summer months (November to March) and cruise ship days may be busy, so plan accordingly.
