Jade Tours brings its award-winning 5-star service to Lyttelton with this exclusive shore excursion to the renowned Greystone and Muddy Water vineyards in North Canterbury’s Waipara Valley. Alongside his brother Peter, Bruce was there from the beginning: finding the land, planting the first vines, and building the foundations of what is now one of New Zealand’s top wineries. These tours offer guests a special behind-the-scenes connection to the place and the people who shaped it. Your day begins with a warm welcome at Lyttelton Port, followed by a scenic drive through Christchurch and the Canterbury countryside. Along the way, your knowledgeable local guide will offer engaging insights into the region’s history, culture, and landscape. We’ll pause for a delicious morning tea before continuing into wine country. Your first tasting stop is at a boutique winery known for its expressive cool-climate wines and family-run charm. Then it’s on to Greystone — one of New Zealand’s most celebrated organic vineyards — for a long, leisurely lunch. The seasonal three-course menu, crafted by Greystone’s resident chef, features fresh regional ingredients and is expertly paired with five of their handcrafted wines for a true taste of North Canterbury. After lunch, you’ll visit a third hand-picked winery for your final tasting of the day, offering yet another perspective on the region’s diverse terroir. If time allows, we’ll stop for a scenic photo opportunity on the return journey.
