Directions to Christchurch Gondola
Offering 360-degree views over Christchurch, the gondola provides visitors with a spectacular vista and fantastic photo opportunities.
The journey to 500 metres above sea level takes about 10 minutes in a fully enclosed cable car. At the top visitors can stretch their legs with a walk on one of the many Port Hills tracks or simply sit and take in the view stretches to the Southern Alps in one direction and to the Pacific Ocean in the other.
A cafe offers snacks and light meals and a shop sells souvenirs and gifts, while visitors who would like to know more about the area's history can visit the Time Tunnel museum.
The Gondola also has conference facilities and provides a stunning backdrop for a wedding and the Gondola ride to the summit definitely adds something different to a function. At the top, the conference rooms can seat up to 200 people and are separate to the main facilities to ensure privacy.
