Orana Wildlife Park is New Zealand's only open-range zoo, set across 80 hectares of wide-open spaces just 15 minutes from Christchurch Airport. Home to animals from around the world and native wildlife found nowhere else, it's a place to slow down, explore, and connect with nature.
Arrive from 10am to enjoy a full day of wildlife experiences, including daily animal presentations led by our knowledgeable team. Following the presentation schedule is a great way to make the most of your visit and discover more about each species.
Hand-feed a giraffe, come face-to-face with New Zealand's only gorillas, see our national icon, the kiwi and wander through immersive habitats to see kākāriki, whio, kea and other native species thrive. Along the way, you'll also meet big cats, curious monkeys, meerkats, reptiles, farm animals, and much more.
Explore at your own pace on foot, hop aboard the complimentary Safari Shuttle, or follow our walkabout guides. With expansive picnic areas, a café, adventure playground, and gift shop, there's plenty of space to relax, roam, and enjoy a day in the wild.
