Located just five minutes from Christchurch Airport, Willowbank Wildlife Reserve is a family attraction that combines conservation, wildlife and Maori culture.

The reserve is home to 50 different types of animals and up to 500 individual animals, wandering free and housed in individually designed enclosures.  Explore three zones to learn about the county's endangered wildlife.

Visitors can experience exotic wildlife in 'Wild New Zealand', livestock in 'Heritage New Zealand' and native species in 'Natural New Zealand 'zone.

Ko Tane is a pre-European Maori village and an interactive Maori cultural experience.  The evening cultural tour includes a visit to a Maori village, live performance show and a traditional Hangi Meal.  Willowbank also features a cafe, bar and restaurant to enjoy before or after exploring the reserve.

Event Facilities:

Willowbank’s restaurant offers a unique setting with views of surrounding wildlife and gardens.  A very distinctive feature is the decking, where deer will come running to eat out of visitors hands. The fully licensed restaurant is available on an evening for group bookings of 30 or more.
