You’ll traverse the majestic Canterbury Plains, to the backdrop of the mighty Southern Alps and enjoy the journey of a lifetime.

Discover the flavours of the South Island aboard the TranzAlpine Scenic Plus experience, with a seasonal menu inspired by the Canterbury Plains, Southern Alps and West Coast.
Imagine starting your journey with Eggs Benedict on potato-herb rosti and free-range bacon, before enjoying South Island smoked salmon overlooking Lake Brunner, or for dinner, slow-braised Canterbury lamb paired with an Otago Pinot Noir as you travel through the Southern Alps.

The TranzAlpine train operates seven days a week. It departs Christchurch at 8.15am and returns from Greymouth at 2.05pm.
