The pop-up Museum is a great visit for the whole family. Children can explore the much-loved bug drawers from Discovery, the children’s natural history centre that will return in the new Museum and ride the horse from the old Christchurch Street.

Yes. Lux Espresso Café is located on the ground floor and serves Allpress espresso and fresh cabinet food. The café is open Monday to Friday from 7am to 3:30pm.
Yes. Visitors are welcome to take photos and videos for personal use, including of exhibitions, events, building interiors and most collection objects. Permission should be obtained before photographing other people.
Tripods and monopods require permission at least 24 hours in advance. Selfie sticks are permitted.
Yes. Some objects cannot be photographed or filmed for cultural or conservation reasons. Any restrictions will be indicated by signage.
Commercial, artistic and other non-personal photography or filming requires prior permission from Canterbury Museum.
