Devil's Punchbowl Falls

Located in Arthur's Pass National Park, a spectacular fall of 131 metres that can accessed from the Devil's Punchbowl trail.
The one hour return walk from Arthur's Pass Village includes footbridges, forest, impressive views of Arthur's Pass and of course a majestic waterfall.
A turning a few hundred metres past the general store (heading towards Haast) is a carpark where you can pick up the track. You'll walk alongside the Bealey River and across two footbridges allowing you to take in the sweeping views of Arthur's Pass, before twisting and turning up steps through the mountain beech forest and onto the beautiful Devil's Punchbowl Falls.
The falls and Arthur's Pass Village are found between Christchurch and Greymouth off the main state highway 73. The national park covers over 1000 kilometres with the towering Southern Alps running through the park. The huge amount of trails suit walkers of all abilities from 10 minute waterfall tracks to half day alpine tracks for the more experienced hikers and mountaineers.
