As you pull into Methven Mt Hutt Village and stand at the cross roads of the two main streets (one fittingly named Main Street!) you’ll see two pubs on opposite corners. One of them is Blue, one of them is Brown. Ours is the Brown one.
The catch phrase “your true country pub” is very apt as this is indeed a classic New Zealand country pub.
Warm in atmosphere and welcome, you will feel right at home from the minute you walk in the door. Our Fireside Bar and Family resturant has a fabulous menu complete with some delicious new items and the classic favourites we know you love! Our accomodation recently had a facelift including carpet, paint and bedding.
The Brown Pub, finalist in New Zealand’s Best Country Hotel at the 2016 HANZ Awards for Excellence, is located right in the middle of town and offers the Main Bar the Fireside Bar, and a family resturant ,clean affordable accomodation, the Methven Liquor Centre and naturally a great time.
We are also very proud to be awarded the Lion Breweries Beer Master award for demonstrating excellence in beer quality and presentation – ten years running. So you know the beer is going to be good.
