The Cairns Golf Club

Christchurch

Set in the stunning landscape of the Mackenzie Basin, just minutes from Lake Tekapo, The Cairns golf course is modelled on the traditional Scottish courses.

The course was developed from the natural landscape with the greens marked first and the fairways simply improved by cutting the grass, and many original features along the course have been kept including 70-year-old distance markers found on the 9th hole.  Visiting players are welcome and clubs can be hired on site.

Overnight guests can stay at one of the varied accommodation options offered near the course including the historic Mt John homestead and the private Isolation Bay property which has its own beach.

A number of other activities including horse trekking and mountain biking are available for non-golfing visitors to enjoy while their partners are on the course.

Pay green fees at the honesty box on course, and for gear rental, visit The Cairns Alpine Resort Reception at 48 Dárchiac Drive.
