Located just 10 minutes from Christchurch International Airport, relax and enjoy your time in the farm setting which features expansive lawns and gardens with a river boundary.  

Silverstream is one of the larger alpaca farms in New Zealand with over 200 Alpacas, specialising in farm-stay accommodation and live animal exports.  Come and enjoy the friendly inquisitive nature of these wonderful animals, as you experience the Kiwi hospitality of your hosts, Kit & Sheryl.

Accommodation:

Two luxurious self-contained farmstay cottages sleep up to five persons per cottage.  Each farm stay cottage has two bedrooms - one with a Queen bed and the other bedroom with two single beds.  A rollaway can be supplied for a fifth person.

The cottages open onto a patio overlooking the alpacas housed in the nearby paddocks.  Each cottage includes Smart TV's with Netflix, heat pumps, a bathroom, lounge, modern kitchen and a carport.   All linen, pillows and towels are supplied along with toiletries, a hair dryer, extra blankets and pillows.  There is a safe in each cottage for securing your valuables.  

Breakfasts are delivered in the evening so that you are not disturbed too early the next morning. 

Along with an outdoor barbecue, there is a basketball hoop and a trampoline for the kids.  There are also plenty of board games not to mention plenty of interesting walks.

Pricing: 

$300 per night for two guests including breakfast and a farm tour.
There is an extra charge of $30 per person for 3, 4 or 5 guests.

Alpaca Farm Tours:

Silverstream Alpaca Stud also offers farm tours for those visitors who have booked accommodation elsewhere.

Enjoy a guided farm tour to see the rare and highly inquisitive alpaca.  With entertaining commentary from the owner Kit, you'll learn about one of the most beautiful and elegant animals in the world, not to mention friendliest. 

Visitors will be able to feed the animals, touch and handle the animals and marvel at the soft and lustrous fibre that makes these animals so attractive as a fibre producer.  Crias (babies) in season can be held for photographs.

The 1 hour tour concludes with a visit to the trophy room and shop.
